I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

I don't think I'm alone when I say I'd like to see more and more planets fall under the ruthless domination of our solar system.

    - Jack Handey, "Deep Thoughts"
  • In education as elsewhere, the broad primrose path leads to a nasty place.

    - A. N. Whitehead
  • A great war leaves the country with three armies: an army of cripples, an army of mourners, and an army of thieves.
  • English is a language that lurks in dark alleys, beats up other languages and rifles through their pockets for spare vocabulary.
  • True words are not beautiful,
    Beautiful words are not true.
  • Bishop of Bath and Wells: You fiend! Never have I encountered such corrupt and foul-minded perversity… Have you ever considered a career in the church? Blackadder: Yes, but I couldn't get used to the underwear.

  • What is written without effort is in general read without pleasure.

  • Terry Pratchett

That seems to point up a significant difference between Europeans and Americans. A European says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with me?" An American says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with him?"

"It's still a lie. Like the lie about masks."
    "What lie about masks?"
"The way people say they hide faces."
    "They do hide faces."
"Only the one on the outside."

  • Balzac a dit:

Breaking Benjamin – Diary of Jane

Breaking Benjamin – Diary of Jane
Album: Phobia

I don’t usually listen to music like this as it isn’t really my genre. Not really… OK: rephrase. I wouldn’t pick up artists like this. However, I was introduced to this little ditty by way of a Firefly fanvid called – appropriately enough – Diary of Jayne. Yes, it was about Jayne.

Then, behind all those clips of the best show ever, I realised what a nice song it was and how I could get my grimy little paws on a copy. So I did. On all three Breaking Benjamin albums. That’s how obsessive compulsive I am. I have to have them all even if I hate everything else by the artist. Such is my life.

If I had to
I would put myself right beside you
So let me ask
Would you like that?
Would you like that?

And I don’t mind
If you say this love is the last time
So now I’ll ask
Do you like that?
Do you like that?

No.

Something’s getting in the way
Something’s just about to break
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane
So tell me how it should be

Try to find out what makes you tick
As I lie down
Sore and sick
Do you like that?
Do you like that?

There’s a fine line between love and hate
And I don’t mind
Just let me say that I like that
I like that

Something’s getting in the way
Something’s just about to break
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane
As I burn another page
As I look the other way
I still try to find my place in the diary of Jane
So tell me how it should be

Desperate, I will crawl
Waiting for so long
No love, there is no love
Die for anyone
What have I become

Something’s getting in the way
Something’s just about to break
I will try to find my place in the diary of Jane
As I burn another page
As I look the other way
I still try to find my place
In the diary of Jane.
